Tacalyx is a biopharmaceutical start-up researching and developing innovative therapeutics to target cancer-associated carbohydrate antigens (TACAs). To strengthen our team in Berlin, we are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated bench-level scientist. The major focus of this position is the identification of key enzymes involved in TACA biosynthesis and subsequent generation and characterization of syngeneic cell lines needed for preclinical mouse models.
Your Tasks And Responsibilities:
- Identification of carbohydrate biosynthetic pathways (e.g. by RNAseq, CRISPR)
- Validation of identified pathways in vitro
- Establishment of in vitro and in vivo cancer models by generation and characterization of
- stable knockout cell lines (e.g. using CRISPR/Cas)
- stable knock-in cell lines
- Perform all aspects related to cell line engineering including experimental study design, planning, execution, analysis, and writing of technical reports
- Keep up-to-date on scientific advances from literature and scientific meetings
Essential Background And Skills:
- PhD degree (obtained not later than 3 years ago) in Life Sciences with focus on immunology/cell biology/oncology
- Extensive hands-on experience in stable cell line engineering and flow cytometry is a must
- Confident in vector design and sequence verification
- Significant experience in design, execution, and analysis of cell-based assays for proliferation, cell death and killing, adhesion, migration and other immune-oncological assays is desired
- Experience working with Lentiviruses in a BSL2 is an asset
- Hands-on experience in NK cell culture (primary and/or cell line derived) is an asset
- Ability to design and execute experiments, critically interpret experimental results, and present data in a meaningful manner
- Excellent team playing skills
- Highly precise and organized working style with good scientific documentation and communication skills
